This page sets out the availability we commit to for Computle workstations. What we guarantee depends on how a workstation is deployed, so the commitments below are given by configuration.
Availability by configuration
| Configuration | Commitment |
|---|---|
| Availability Set A workstation and its replica at a second Computle site | 100% — at least one of the two is available to the user at any time |
| Single workstation One machine at one site | Best effort |
What best effort means
A single workstation runs in a data centre with redundant power and redundant internet feeds, on our own network, AS213513. We monitor every machine and recover it automatically if it fails, and we operate the platform to keep it available.
We do not attach an availability percentage to a single workstation, because a single machine is not protected against the loss of the site it runs in. No single building has 100% availability. The best-run sites are built with redundant power, cooling and network, and they still go offline.
Availability Sets
An availability set is a pair of machines placed so that no single event can take both out at once. The primary sits at your home site and the replica at a second Computle site in another city, kept in step continuously.
If the primary site goes down, we move users to their replicas. Recovery time is a few minutes and the recovery point is measured in seconds, so at most a user loses the last few seconds of work. Switchover is managed by Computle; there is nothing for your IT team or MSP to run.

What is not covered
These commitments cover the workstation and the Computle platform around it. They do not cover your own office network or internet connection, the device a user connects from, third-party software running on the workstation, or third-party storage and services you take from another supplier.
